Woman Assaulted In Her Hospital Bed
A disabled Lawrenceburg woman reported to law enforcement agents that she had been assaulted in her hospital bed, then left in the back yard overnight before being discovered by a neighbor.
Lawrenceburg Police Officers spoke with the 58-year-old victim and her daughter on Sunday. They reported that the victim had been assaulted inside her Debus Street home one week before, by an intruder.
According to the victim, she was lying in her hospital-type bed when the man entered her home, came to her bed, and grabbed her by the throat. She told officers that she arose from the be and began to fight back. During the struggle, she said he grabbed her breasts.
The victim indicated that she struggled with her assailant throughout the home, and into the back yard. There the attack ended. She lay on the ground throughout the night, she reported, and into the following morning, until a neighbor heard her cries for help.
The neighbor assisted the victim into her home. She remained there until she was taken to Crockett Hospital by Lawrence County Ambulance Service personnel on Friday for medical treatment.
Officers noted that the victim had sustained a large laceration to the right arm, a black eye, and large bruise to the back.
Investigation into the matter is continuing presently. Anyone who has information regarding the crime is urged to contact the department at 762-2276.
The intruder is described as a white male with black hair, in his 50’s, with black hair and no facial hair. At the time of the attack he was wearing a long sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
